Meet the Team of Heritage Dental Group of Rockwall!

Mike Smith, Business Manager

Mike is a born and raised Texan, whose hometown is Denison. He has more than twenty years of experience in staff development and operations, and has BBA in Marketing from North Texas State University. With his diverse business practice background, he has an extensive understanding of building successful financial operations. Mike has been a valued part of the Heritage Dental Group Team since 2011.

Mike likes the family feeling of Heritage Dental Group, the wonderful patients, and believes Cheryl Smith is a great doctor. He has two children, Baylee and Cole. He enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Kathy McCowan, Registered Dental Hygienist

Kathy currently resides in Mesquite, Texas, where she lives with her husband of twenty-three years, and their three children. She’s been in the dental profession for more than twenty-five years, and started at Heritage Dental Group in 1998.

Kathy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Texas Woman’s University. She takes twelve hours of continuing education every year to ensure she stays current on updated techniques and technology in the dental industry.

Kathy believes Heritage Dental Group is a great place to work because her co-workers feel like family. She really enjoys working with people and meeting new patients. She loves her job!

Jamie Tidwell, Registered Dental Hygienist

Jamie has more than thirty years’ experience working in the dental field, and joined the Heritage Dental Group team in 2013. She loves helping patients achieve and maintain their healthiest smiles, and working with our dedicated dentist and team. Jamie earned her bachelor of science in dental hygiene from Texas Women’s University and completes numerous hours of continuing education every year to ensure she offers her patients the best care. She has been happily married to Bill since 1992, and they are the proud parents of five children and six grandchildren. In her free time, Jamie enjoys travelling especially taking cruises and spending time spoiling her grandkids.

Tori Banno, Registered Dental Assistant

Tori has been working in the dental profession for a year now. Originally from Mesquite, she attended Eastfield College as a student athlete, taking the dental assistant program. Her favorite parts of her job are being able to observe Dr. Smith caring for her patients, seeing smiles, and enjoying the positive environment! She loves helping people.

Outside of work, Tori enjoys playing with her “fur child,” spending time with her family, and hanging out in the country.
